A Typical Day at The Gardens at Columbine
First, you wake to the smell of a delicious, hot breakfast being prepared in our main kitchen. As you open the draperies in your private apartment, the beautiful grounds of our community are revealed. Breakfast with friends might be followed by a brisk walk around the Gardens or an exercise program in the commons. When you consult the monthly activity calendar you will find numerous planned daily activities, which range from “Stretch and Flex” in the morning to board games after dinner. Our scheduled transportation offers trips to doctors, shopping, restaurants, and other points of interest. You are welcome to join others in the fireside lounge or meet in the gazebo for bird watching. When you are so inclined, you will meet other gardeners to enjoy the available space at the raised beds. Several times a month you won’t want to miss the professional entertainers who perform in the commons or dining room. Your guests will enjoy our renowned hospitality. You may consult with staff to plan for a special event in the private dining room or in any of our gathering spots. Or you may simply offer your guest a treat from our complimentary snack and beverage bar. When you retire to your apartment at the end of the day, we trust you have been enriched and fulfilled, and that you look forward to the next day as you continue to write your own chapters in the book of your life.
Care Plans
At The Gardens at Columbine we tailor our care to your specific needs. We offer a spectrum of care services to choose from, unlike other retirement communities. Instead of a rigid outline, our care plans are meant to be designed to meet your individual requirements.
In addition to the all inclusive package offered at The Gardens (including laundry service, meals, cleaning, emergency service and any TLC that a resident might need) we offer wellness care depending on your needs.

- Personal care - this might include shower assistance, dressing, personal laundry, escorting, and transferring
- Oversight and safety reminders
- Resident checks several times a day, and at night when needed
- Maintenance of health records
- Weight, blood pressure or vitals tracking

- Care of residents with temporary or minor illnesses
- Medical treatments, such as wound care
- Regularly scheduled assessments
